Overview

The temple is dedicated to Venkateswara, a form of Vishnu, who is believed to have appeared on the earth to save mankind from trials and troubles of Kali Yuga.Tthe place is also known by the name Kaliyuga Vaikuntha and the deity here is referred to as Kaliyuga Prathyaksha Daivam. Tirumala hills are part of Seshachalam Hills range. The hills are 853 metres above sea level and comprise seven peaks, representing the seven heads of Adisesha. The temple lies on the seventh peak—Venkatadri, on the southern banks of Sri Swami Pushkarini, a holy water tank. The temple is constructed in South Indian architecture and is believed to be constructed over a period of time starting from 300 CE. The temple is one of the eight Vishnu Swayambhu Kshetras and is listed as the 75th Divya Desam, one of the 108 temples mentioned in the Naalayira Divya Prabandham.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Chennai International Airport/Railway Station, you will be received by our tour executive who will introduce you to your driver. Set off to Tirupati. En route visit Kalahasthi God Shiva Temple. One of the famous and powerful Shiva Temples in South India, it is popular as Rahu- Ketu Kshetra. The temple is remarkably known for conducting rituals related to horoscopes like Rahu- Kethu Sarpa Dosha Nirvana Pujas. On arrival at Tirupati, check in at the hotel and relax. Later, have dinner at your preferred restaurant and head back to your hotel for a comfortable stay. Overnight stay in Tirupati.

After breakfast drive to Tirumala. Have Darshan of Lord Shri Venkateshwara (Balaji) at Tirumala Tirupati Temple (Balaji Temple). Tirumala Tirupati Temple is known as the Bhooloka Vaikuntam and it is the richest temple in the world.

Another speciality is that devotees of all ages pay homage to the Lord Balaji of Tirupathi by donating their hair at the temple. Later visit Sreenivasa Mangapuram where Lord Venkateshwara stayed after his marriage with Sri Padmavati Devi, as per legends. Also, pay a visit to Govinda Raja Swamy Temple, the biggest temple in Tirupati. It is dedicated to Sri Govindaraja Swamy, the elder brother of Lord Venkateshwara. Finally seek the blessings of Lord Shiva at Kapila Theertham Temple. It is the only temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in Tirupati. Later, head back to your hotel for an overnight stay after having a delicious dinner at your preferred hotel in Tirupati. Overnight stay in Tirupati.

 

Post breakfast, check out from the hotel. Drive back to Chennai International Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey home, enriched with wonderful memories you had at Lord Venkateshwara’s Holy Abode, Tirupati.
