Itinerary
Today we begin our scenic journey towards Leh, driving through some of the most breathtaking landscapes of the Himalayas. We bypass the historic Rohtang Pass (3,978 m) and instead travel through the Atal Tunnel, a 9 km-long engineering marvel and the world’s longest highway tunnel, connecting the Manali–Solang Valley with Lahaul–Spiti and opening a vital all-weather route to Ladakh.
En route, we pass through Keylong (3,350 m) and ascend the spectacular Baralacha La Pass (4,890 m), surrounded by dramatic mountain views. This route remains open to travelers from June to October, depending on weather conditions.
By evening, we arrive at Sarchu (4,253 m), located on the border of Himachal Pradesh (Lahaul region) and Ladakh. Upon arrival, check in to our tented campsite and enjoy a peaceful overnight stay amidst the high-altitude wilderness.
After an early breakfast, we check out and continue our journey deeper into the remote landscapes of Ladakh. Today’s drive is adventurous and scenic, taking us through less-traveled routes known for their raw beauty and high-altitude terrain.
En route, we cross spectacular mountain passes and wide-open plains, with constantly changing scenery ranging from rugged mountains to vast barren valleys. The drive offers stunning views of high-altitude deserts, nomadic settlements, and pristine wilderness, giving a true sense of Ladakh’s untouched charm.
By late afternoon or evening, we arrive at Tso Moriri Lake (4,522 m), one of the most beautiful and secluded high-altitude lakes in Ladakh, set against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains.
Upon arrival, check in at our camp/guesthouse near the lake. Spend the evening at leisure, soaking in the serene atmosphere. Overnight stay near Tso Moriri.
After breakfast, enjoy some quiet moments by the tranquil waters of Tso Moriri, watching the changing colors of the lake as the morning light reflects off the surrounding peaks. This pristine lake is also home to migratory birds and offers excellent photo opportunities.
Later, we begin our drive towards Leh, passing through the scenic Mahe Bridge and the charming village of Chumathang, famous for its natural hot springs. The journey continues along the Indus River, offering breathtaking views of deep gorges and dramatic mountain landscapes.
By evening, we arrive in Leh, where you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the evening is free to relax and acclimatize. Overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.
Begin the day with a scenic drive to Thiksey Monastery, one of Ladakh’s most impressive hilltop monasteries, often compared to the Potala Palace of Lhasa. Explore its temples and prayer halls, highlighted by the magnificent 15-meter statue of Maitreya (Future Buddha), along with beautiful murals and sweeping views of the Indus Valley.
Continue to Shey Palace, the former summer capital of the Ladakhi kings. Visit the palace ruins and monastery, known for its large copper-gilded statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, and enjoy the picturesque surroundings dotted with traditional villages.
En route, stop at the famous Druk Padma Karpo School, widely known as the “Rancho School” from the movie 3 Idiots, where traditional architecture meets modern, sustainable design.
Later, proceed to Stok Palace, the current residence of the royal family. The museum here showcases royal costumes, jewelry, thangkas, and other artifacts, while the location offers fine views of the Stok Kangri range.
By evening, return to Leh and spend the rest of the time at leisure relax at the hotel or explore the local markets and cafes. Overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.
After breakfast, depart from Leh and drive along the scenic Leh–Kargil Highway, tracing the course of the Indus River through striking Himalayan landscapes.
En route, visit Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, a serene spiritual site dedicated to Guru Nanak Dev Ji, followed by a stop at the fascinating Magnetic Hill, known for its gravity-defying phenomenon. Continue to the dramatic Confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers, a natural highlight of the region.
Proceed to Likir Monastery, renowned for its impressive gilded Maitreya Buddha statue, before continuing through the tranquil landscapes of Sham Valley.
Arrive at your camp or hotel, check in, and enjoy the evening at leisure amidst peaceful surroundings. Overnight stay in Sham Valley.
After an early breakfast, depart for Kargil, traveling through the remote villages of Dha and Hanu, home to the unique Brokpa (Drokpa) community, known for their distinct culture and traditions. Spend time exploring the villages and observing local life.
Continue your journey via Batalik, a region of historical significance, before arriving in Kargil by late afternoon. Check in at your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in Kargil.
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Leh, passing through Mulbekh, home to the ancient rock-carved Maitreya Buddha.
Continue to Lamayuru Monastery, dramatically set amidst moon-like landscapes, offering both spiritual insight and scenic beauty. Cross the Indus River to visit Alchi Monastery, renowned for its exquisite 11th-century murals and artistic heritage.
Arrive in Leh by late evening and check in at your hotel. If time permits, explore Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, or the lively Leh Market. Overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.
After breakfast, depart on a scenic drive to Nubra Valley, crossing the legendary Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world. From the summit, enjoy panoramic views of the Indus Valley, the rugged Zanskar Range, and the towering Saser Massif.
Descend into Nubra Valley (Ldumra), known as the Valley of Flowers, where lush fields contrast with dramatic high-altitude desert landscapes. Upon arrival, check in at your camp or hotel.
In the evening, visit Hunder, famous for its white sand dunes and optional Bactrian camel ride against a stunning mountain backdrop. Continue to Diskit, explore the local bazaar, and visit the historic Diskit Monastery, offering sweeping views of the valley. Dinner and overnight stay in Nubra Valley.
After an early breakfast, proceed on an excursion to Turtuk, the last Indian village on the Indo–Pakistan border, known for its scenic beauty, Balti culture, and apricot orchards.
The drive along the Shyok River offers striking views of rugged mountains and remote landscapes. Upon arrival, explore the village, interact with locals, and experience the unique culture of this border settlement. Later, return to Nubra Valley. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp or hotel.
After breakfast, depart for Pangong Tso via the adventurous Agham–Shyok Valley route, renowned for its raw landscapes and untouched beauty.
Travel through Durbuk and Tangtse before the breathtaking blue expanse of Pangong Lake unfolds at an altitude of 14,000 ft. Famous for its changing shades of blue and featured in “3 Idiots”, the lake offers a serene and unforgettable experience.
Upon arrival, check in at your camp near the lake and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp near Pangong Lake.
After breakfast, depart from Pangong Lake for Hanle, one of Ladakh’s most remote and scenic regions. En route, pass through Chushul Village and visit the Rezang La War Memorial, honoring the brave soldiers of the 1962 Indo–China War.
Continue the journey across Tsaga La Pass (15,200 ft) before arriving in Hanle, home to the renowned Indian Astronomical Observatory, set amidst vast open landscapes and clear night skies.
Upon arrival, check in at your guesthouse, homestay, or hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Hanle.
Wake up early to enjoy a serene sunrise over the Ladakh ranges. After breakfast, begin your return drive to Leh via Chumathang, known for its natural hot springs.
En route, visit the iconic Thiksey Monastery, followed by Shey Palace, the former capital of Ladakh, and a stop at the famous “3 Idiots” Rancho School. Arrive in Leh by evening, check in at your hotel, and relax. Overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport for your onward journey.

Payment Policy
- If booking is 30 days in advance from the travel date: Advance of 15% of the package cost required
- If booking is between 30 days to 15 days in advance from the travel date: Advance of 30% of the package cost is required
- If travel is within 15 days of the travel date: We will require 100% payment.
Cancellation Policy
- If booking is 15 days before the travel date: 100% refund for Domestic Packages.
- Between 15 days to 1 Day before the travel date: 100% cancellation on Domestic Packages.
