Itinerary
Early in the morning, we will depart for Kibale Forest National Park. By afternoon, we will arrive at Kibale Forest Camp, where we will settle in and enjoy an immersive stay surrounded by the sounds of the tropical rainforest.
At 8:00 am, we will set out on a thrilling four-hour chimpanzee tracking experience through Kibale National Park. Along the way, you may also encounter up to 10 other primate species, while the forest’s vibrant butterflies and diverse birdlife add to the experience. In the afternoon, we will explore the Bigodi Swamp on a guided nature walk, home to a successful community-based conservation project and rich wildlife.
Early in the morning, we will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, travelling via Fort Portal. By midday, we will arrive at The Bush Lodge, beautifully situated overlooking the scenic Kazinga Channel. In the afternoon, enjoy a two-hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, offering excellent opportunities to spot hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and a variety of birdlife along the water’s edge.
In the morning, we will depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, travelling through some of Uganda’s most spectacular landscapes, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa.” The journey takes us through rolling hills, majestic mountains, serene lakes, and beautifully cultivated terraces, with lush tropical rainforests and bamboo forests adding to the scenery along the way.
Today is the highlight of the journey gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. From Gorilla Valley Lodge, we will drive for approximately 30 minutes to the starting point for the Nkuringo, Nshongi, Mishaya, or Kahungye Gorilla groups in South Bwindi.
At 7:45 am, we will arrive at the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park offices for a pre-trek briefing and safety orientation. The trek will begin at approximately 8:30 am, taking you deep into the lush rainforest in search of the mountain gorillas. Once the gorillas are located, you will have a maximum of one hour to observe them in their natural habitat.
The trek can be physically demanding, and a good level of fitness is recommended. All visitors are expected to return to the starting point by 7:00 pm.
Early in the morning, we will depart for Lake Mburo National Park, stopping in Mbarara for lunch before continuing our journey. Although smaller in size, Lake Mburo is a unique national park and the only protected area in western Uganda where you can spot impalas and zebras.
Upon arrival, guests staying in luxury accommodation will enjoy a late-afternoon/early-evening game drive, offering opportunities to observe the park’s diverse wildlife. For those staying in budget accommodation, the afternoon will be dedicated to a village and cultural walk, providing an opportunity to experience the local way of life and community traditions.
After an early morning game drive, we will return to the lodge for a late breakfast before beginning the final leg of the journey back towards Kampala. En route, we will pass through Masaka and have the opportunity to stop at the Equator for lunch, photographs, souvenir shopping, and a refreshing tea or coffee.
We will then continue to Kampala or Entebbe, where you can be dropped off at your preferred guesthouse, campsite, or hotel. Alternatively, if you are continuing your journey or flying home, we can arrange a direct transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight.
If required, you may also opt for an additional night at our Airport Guesthouse at USD 70 per double room or USD 60 per single room, including breakfast and airport transfer.
